Soul Grows Quiet

by Tanner Olson

SOUL GROWS QUIET

Go where your soul grows quiet.
The mountains. The ocean.
The chair in the corner. The trail in the woods.
A Psalm. A Story.
The coffee shop on the corner.
The moment frozen in the photo on your wall.

Go where your soul grows still,
and lift up your eyes to the hills.
Remember where your help comes from:
not from the noise, not from your striving,
but from the Creator,
the One who shaped
the mountains, the oceans, the stars.

Remember what is promised:
He will not let your foot slip.
Love walks beside you,
Mercy goes before you—
daylight,
moonlight,
every wandering step.

Let your shoulders fall.
Let your breath slow.
Let your mind return to what is true:
The Creator watches over your coming and going,
your steps and your stumbles,
your resting and your rising—
in every moment.

Peace is not a prize,
but a gift
God continues to give.
