Poetry Hour 201 is a 6-week generative and collaborative course for poets looking to write and curate a poetry chapbook or collection.

Join us every TUESDAY night at 8:30 pm ET on Zoom to celebrate National Poetry Month: April 7, 14, 21, 28, and May 5, 12. SEATS LIMITED TO 24 STUDENTS.

-POETRY HOUR 201 is the NEW second semester course that is a follow-up to the original POETRY HOUR COHORT, now named 101, which will be offered again in the fall.

-You do NOT need to take Poetry Hour 101 to take Poetry Hour 201, but they do complement one another.

-Poetry Hour 201 is ideal for students who are serious about developing their craft beyond beginner and want to one day write and curate a chapbook or collection. It is ideal for students who loved Poetry Hour 101 and are ready to take the next step.

Join us for this innovative approach to the writing and curation process:

  • Spend 6-weeks with other passionate writers and learners creating and refining your poetry chapbook or collection.

  • Study the greats and get new prompts and skills in full, live class setting.

  • Make deep connections with a community that cares about you and your work.

  • Experience a fine-arts education for a fraction of the cost.

  • Write poetry, workshop poetry live, and get full critiques on your best six poem from your instructors.

    • Students are divided into two small groups of 12 for two 3-week segments, first critiqued with instructor 1 and then rotated for the final 3 weeks with instructor 2. You instructor will critique one poem a week on a shared Google document.

    • Students are also paired with a peer to get peer feedback and encouragement throughout the course.

  • Learn about curating a chapbook or collection that is cohesive and tells a bigger story, as well as publishing options.

  • Publish a class anthology and earn a certificate.
